About This Cause
Founded with a vision of fostering a strong and vibrant Islamic community, Al-Madinah Calgary Islamic Assembly (AMCIA) has been tirelessly working towards this mission since its inception. Over the years, the organization has undertaken numerous initiatives ranging from the establishment of mosques and religious education to community services and Halal foodbank. AMCIA is the pioneer of Interfaith dialogues and collaboration in the Calgary area. AMCIA provides family and youth counseling services, matrimonial services, and educational services. Soon, AMCIA will also provide funeral services as well. One of our most significant undertakings to date is the Green Dome Islamic School project (web: https://www.greendome.ca/). It is an Alberta Curriculum School with integrated Islamic Education. This ambitious project aims to construct a 100,000 square-ft, three-story educational facility that includes but is not limited to hi-tech classrooms, reading rooms, labs, cafeteria(s), a commercial kitchen, etc. that will cater to the diverse needs of our community. It will feature a state-of-the-art, 9,000 square-ft multi-purpose community hall/gymnasium with a capacity to accommodate over 500+ people at one go, alongside a plethora of modern amenities. The Green Dome Islamic School holds the promise of transforming the landscape of Islamic education in North America. It is envisioned as a beacon of knowledge, a hub of cultural exchange, and a center for character development. The school will not only provide top-tier academic and religious education but also foster an environment that promotes inclusivity, tolerance, and community building.
