Mission Statement
The Community Foundation of the Kootenay Rockies (CFKR) builds permanently invested endowment funds, provides grants to qualified donees to address local community needs, and offers positive leadership to explore community priorities.
About This Cause
The Vision of the Community Foundation of the Kootenay Rockies is: Together, making our communities even better places to live, work, and play, now and forever. CFKR's Values are: Community, Accountability, Responsiveness, Excellence, and Sustainability. CFKR gratefully accepts monetary donations and permanently invests them, so the money earns interest every year. Each year, CFKR gives a portion of the interest to eligible non-profits to do good things in our communities. Projects that receive funding come from our communities, reflect the unique nature of our communities, and improve the quality of life for local people. CFKR helps make our communities even better places to live, work, and play, by keeping donated money local, to support local projects, to help local people. CFKR is a federally incorporated not-for-profit and a CRA-registered charity. We are governed by a board of community volunteers who bring a depth of experience and community knowledge to the table.
