Mission Statement
Our vision is that people living with a cancer diagnosis, their families and caregivers have access to social supports and services that enhance their wellbeing and quality of life. Our mission is to provide a confidential, safe and welcoming service that responds to the needs of those affected by a cancer diagnosis.
About This Cause
Objectives • Support individuals affected by cancer to live as full and active a life as possible. • Provide a wide range of services that promote well-being and survivorship. • Deliver services in a safe, welcoming and confidential setting. • Involve clients in service development and seek regular feedback. • Adapt and improve services based on client experiences and needs. Current Services and Activities • Adult Counselling: Individual counselling with a choice of male or female therapists. • Child & Youth Therapy: Play therapy, Art therapy and counselling for children and adolescents. • Support Groups: Groups available for men, breast cancer patients, those whom have been bereaved, family members and caregivers to share experiences and receive support. • Complementary Therapies: oncology massage, reflexology, acupuncture, aromatherapy massage, Indian head massage, bowen therapy and reiki. • Nutritional Therapy: Support and advice for dietary well-being during and after treatment. • Lymphoedema Service: Specialist care and management for lymphoedema. • Mindfulness & Well-being Courses: Group-based programmes to support emotional health. • Mastectomy Fitting Service: Personalised fittings in a supportive setting. • Financial Care Coaching: Budgeting, entitlements advice and assistance with forms, delivered by a Chartered Accountant. • Children’s & Teens Support Programme: Therapeutic and sensory activities, communication support and group outings. • Transport Service: Helps clients get to and from chemotherapy appointments. • Drop-in Service: A safe, confidential space for informal support and connection. • Information Provision: Access to cancer-related resources for patients and caregivers. • Survivorship Programmes & Workshops: Including CLIMB, Cancer Thriving & Surviving (CTS), Strides for Life and Look Good Feel Better.
