Mission Statement
P-MAT is a voluntary organization run by high-school and university students focused on popularization of science, mathematics and physics in particular. P-MAT helps talented children to learn things outside their comfort zone and also gives them the opportunity to get to know their peers from Slovakia.
About This Cause
P-MAT has been established in 1983 to help talented children create and maintain their interest for natural sciences, mathematics and physics in particular. Since then, P-MAT has worked with more than 36,000 children, hundreds of schools in Slovakia. Currently, P-MAT is run by about 40 volunteers. P-MAT's vision is to help every child not to loose the interest and pleasure in finding out how the world around us works. We would like to help every child become more curious and give it tools to explore the world in more complex ways. Also, we would like to help bring up young people who are able to think independently and critically and who are able to efficiently communicate with others.
