Mission Statement

Africans United for Long-lasting Development of Africa (AULDA) At AULDA, our mission is clear: No Young Person Left Behind. We exist to unlock the potential of Africa’s youth — with a focused heart on South Africa — by building healing-centered, opportunity-rich environments where young people can rise above adversity and build lives of dignity, skill, and purpose. We believe that sustainable development is only possible when it begins from the ground up — through community-rooted empowerment, mental health support, skills development, and human dignity. Why We Exist South Africa’s youth are rich in creativity, talent, and drive — but many are held back by cycles of trauma, poverty, violence, and systemic neglect. In township streets, in schools with limited resources, among orphaned children, or in homes where hunger silences ambition — we see untapped greatness. AULDA is here to ignite that greatness. What We Do Through integrated programs spanning health, education, sports, art, skills, and storytelling — we offer more than charity. We offer platforms that empower, restore, and inspire. We focus on: Trauma-informed literacy tools like AULDA HEROES, Africa’s first healing-centered superhero comic book series HIV prevention & dignity campaigns that reach orphans, schools, and the homeless with knowledge, support, and care Girls’ empowerment retreats and sexual health education that foster confidence, safety, and body autonomy Skills training in shoemaking, salon entrepreneurship, t-shirt printing, and computer literacy to create pathways to income Youth leadership through sports, including our iDiski Nine Nine soccer tournament that keeps young people off the streets during high-risk holidays Social relief through food drives, clothing donations, and emergency support to orphans, homeless individuals, and families in crisis School-based career guidance programs that introduce young learners to vocational options, life planning, and personal wellness Volunteer and civic engagement, inviting local and global citizens to co-create impact with us Where We Work Our reach stretches across Gauteng — from Soweto to Thokoza, Hillbrow to Duduza, Yeoville to Vosloorus — wherever the need is urgent and voices go unheard. We bring our programs directly into schools, churches, public spaces, and even onto the streets — removing the barriers between services and those who need them most. What Sets Us Apart We are community-led: our leadership and team come from the very communities we serve. We are award-winning: proudly honored with the Mkhaya Migrant Award, presented by the Minister of Home Affairs Mr. Malusi Gigaba and Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, Chair of the African Union, for our excellence in youth and migrant development.( 2015) We are multi-dimensional: blending mental health, entrepreneurship, the arts, education, and humanitarian support into every solution. We are vision-driven: we don’t just react to problems — we build systems of resilience that empower the next generation of African leaders. Our Guiding Values Ubuntu: We believe “I am because we are.” We uplift together. Equity: Every child deserves the same opportunity, regardless of birthplace or background. Healing: We work to restore emotional, physical, and economic dignity. Courage: We challenge injustice and fearlessly fill the gaps left by broken systems. Creativity: From comics to sports, we innovate to inspire. Accountability: We report transparently and use every rand responsibly. Our Vision A thriving, safe, and skilled Africa — where young people are not only surviving, but leading. We envision a continent where trauma no longer defines the future… Where being born into poverty doesn’t mean being trapped in it… Where every young person can rise — through healing, education, action, and hope. Join Us Whether you're a donor, a volunteer, a partner, or a believer in Africa’s youth — there's a place for you at AULDA. Together, we are not just supporting a mission. We are shaping a movement. AULDA — Africans United for Long-lasting Development of Africa Because no young person should ever be left behind.
