Mission Statement

We provide opportunities for children, young people and communities in the UK to develop in a positive way through informal education, sporting, cultural and recreational activities since 1934.

About This Cause

Established in 1934 by Mrs Freda Dudley Ward at the behest of the Prince of Wales, the Charity originally provided support for the unemployed. After the Second World War there was a greater social need for youth clubs and the Charity altered its focus accordingly. The Charity, has built up a substantial reputation for supporting centre-based youth work and has a youth and community centre based in the City of Westminster which provides differing young people programmes Monday to Friday, throughout the day and evening. The Feathers Association has a membership of over 500 young people but has positively impacted on thousands of lives over the 80 years since it started. The centre’s facilities include: an IT suite, recreation room, a commercial kitchen, music / recording studio with links to Abbey Road Studios, astro turfed football pitch, dance studio with sprung floor and a skate park; all which are just at the side of Marylebone train and tube Stations. We make a difference by offering young people and communities with the opportunity to take part in activities and development programmes that would not normally be open to them via school or home life.
