Mission Statement

We are a large Scout Group based in Reading, Berkshire. We help approximately 250 young people enjoy Scouting (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers). Scouting is the UK's biggest mixed youth organisation. We change lives by offering 6 to 25-year-olds fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so that we make a positive impact in communities. Scouts helps children and young adults reach their full potential. Scouts develop skills including teamwork, time management, leadership, initiative, planning, communication, self-motivation, cultural awareness and commitment. We help young people to get jobs, save lives and even change the world.

About This Cause

3rd Reading Scout Group has 3 Beaver Colonies, 3 Cub Packs, 2 Scout Troops and 1 Explorer Unit. That's a lot of adventures for over 250 young people and voluteers! We rely on donations and membership fees to provide all our activities that young people may not otherwise experience.
