Mission Statement

The Little Sisters of the Poor are a Roman Catholic religious order founded in 1839 in Brittany, France with the sole purpose of providing care to the elderly poor, who denpend primarily on the generosity of benefactors. The Sisters have been caring for the poor of all faiths in Philadelphia since 1869. The current residence of Holy Family Home was built in 1973 and is home to 97 residents.

About This Cause

The Sisters' mission to care for the elderly poor relies predominantly on the generosity of its benefactors. This means that both our ongoing needs as well as long term needs are dependent on the charity of others to provide charitable donations.
