About This Cause

The Humane Society of Sullivan County (HSSC) provides resources and information to the community to improve animal welfare and reduce overpopulation. HSSC connects owners with low cost spay/neuter clinics, provides educational materials, microchipping and animal control/welfare checks in addition to placing pets in loving homes. In 2019, HSSC placed over 1,200 dogs and cats through local adoption events, rescue organizations and national partnerships such as PetSmart Charities. This networking allows HSSC to remain a low kill shelter boasting a 58% adoption rate, 23% above the national average. HSSC is continually working to improve pet and owner quality of life.
