About This Cause
Encuentro's mission is to transform NM into a thriving community for all residents by engaging low-income Latino immigrants in educational and career development opportunities that build skills for economic and social justice. Encuentro’s programs include: ESL, Citizenship, Computer Literacy, High School Equivalency, Small Business, Financial Literacy, and Home Health, an eldercare training program that addresses NM’s fastest growing industries. Digital literacy and access to technology is integrated across curricula and a blended learning model supports online and in person learning goals. Organizational objectives: 1) address the need for skill building across areas of language, technology and certificates/degrees in order to compete in today's economy; 2) strengthen the immigrant community to apply these new skills as tools for leadership and civic engagement.
