About This Cause
Rock River Hospice & Home is a fully licensed non-profit hospice program and is certified as a Medicare/Medicaid provider. RRHH embraces the hospice philosophy, which affirms life and regards dying as a normal process which should neither be hastened nor prolonged. RRHH has been providing expert and compassionate quality care to our communities for more than 37 years. RRHH serves Whiteside, Lee, Carroll, Ogle and Bureau counties in Northern Illinois. Hospice is the concept and practice of compassionate healthcare for patients and families dealing with the final stages of a life-limiting illness. When a cure is no longer a viable option, much can still be done. Hospice focuses on the quality of life by keeping the patient comfortable in his or her own home or place of residence; helping the patient and family regain a sense of control and competence; promoting dignity, autonomy, right to privacy; and enhancing the quality of their time together. Hospice care is where you call home - in your home, in a retirement center, nursing home or in our hospice home. All hospice team members visit routinely to give care, answer questions, teach new and important skills, and make each day as full of life as possible. Professionals are on call 24 hours a day for your special needs. When care cannot be managed in the home, hospice can make arrangements with many area nursing facilities where family members and friends are encouraged to remain involved in the care or the patient could come to our hospice home. Rock River Hospice & Home is a not for profit hospice, relying heavily on memorials, donations, grants and other community funding to provide services and measures such as durable medical equipment and medications that are not covered by Medicare or Medicaid. These funds comprise more than 40 percent of RRHH's annual operating budget and ensure the sustainability and availability of hospice services to all who need them.
