Mission Statement
The Edgecombe Cancer Support Foundation is here to financially assist cancer patients of Edgecombe County.
About This Cause
Any resident of Edgecombe County who has been diagnosed with cancer and who is actively being treated for cancer. A Physician certification form (obtained from ECSF) will need to be filled out to help determine eligibility. The Fund pays up to $1000.00 as a one-time gift while being treated. The money can be used for the purpose of offsetting indirect medical costs or any expenses incurred in seeking medical care related to cancer. (Examples include gasoline, food, electric bills, heating bills, or any expense that is due to diagnosis of cancer.) Items not eligible include physician fees, hospital bills, and costs already covered by insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid. Applications can be found at the ECU Health Oncology - Tarboro or online at our web site: www.edgecombecancersupport.org. Completed applications can be mailed to: Edgecombe Cancer Support Foundation, PO BOX 1582, Tarboro NC 27886. Call 252-883-8310 and leave a message for any assistance or email ECSF27886@gmail.com. Payments will be made directly to the business requesting payment or directly to individuals as reimbursements. Adequate documentation will be needed to process payments of funds in the form of bills or receipts. Currently, we only offer 1-time gifts. In being the best stewards of this Fund, an attempt will be made to help as many individuals as possible. Confidentiality: Only the Cancer Fund Directors will be aware of the name of the applicants and information will not be revealed to anyone privately or publicly without the consent of the applicant.
