Mission Statement
Turkish and International Music Ensemble (TIME) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote and make Turkish and other ethnic music accessible through concerts, professional collaborations, community outreach, and educational initiatives. Founded in 2013, TIME brings international audiences together to experience traditional and contemporary Turkish music and hopes to demonstrate the ways in which music can help create understanding between diverse cultures. TIME contributes to preserving the Turkish cultural heritage in the U.S. and enriches the diverse fabric of American musical culture by showcasing the diversity of Turkish music at public events. TIME supports qualified vocalists and instrumentalists interested in Turkish music, by providing them opportunities to learn about and engage in Turkish music. TIME sponsors the New York Ataturk Chorus, widely recognized as the premier Turkish music chorus in the U.S.
