About This Cause
RMS is organized to operate exclusively for charitable and educational purposes with the meaning of Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 or corresponding provisions of any United States Internal Revenue law and more specifically to: A. Promotion: RMS will promote the historic preservation, protection and use of Rochester’s traditional downtown area, including that area’s commercial, civic and religious enterprises and residences. RMS shall promote the downtown area by way of retail and special events as well as work on image enhancement for the Downtown. B. Organization: RMS will organize and promote constructive relationships between local government bodies and private business and citizens. RMS may support other charitable and educational organizations whose primary interest is to preserve and develop the beauty and economic stability of Rochester. RMS will promote the concerns of the downtown area at the city, county and state level. C. Economic Vitality: RMS will help to diversify the community by strengthening existing business and recruiting new stores to balance the retail mix; devising and writing marketing packages for interested owners and/or business people who want to recruit new business into their space, aiding potential business owners in finding retail space and by aiding in the acquiring of adequate financing. D. Design: RMS will assist in planning and coordinating the design of improvement in or adjacent to the downtown area. RMS will aid in providing design services for buildings and signage. RMS will promote and assist in city beautification projects. RMS will participate in the planning and development of public interest projects in the downtown area.
