Project Details
Hurricane Maria hit Dominica on September 18th as a Category 5 storm. Ninety-eight percent of homes on the island are significantly damaged and all of the agricultural crops were destroyed. Power systems, water supplies, and communications systems are all down. Both airports sustained major damage. Immediate urgent needs – food, water and shelter – are being met for most of those affected.
Our charity partners are working to help get health systems back up and running. This includes bringing in medication and basic medical supplies that can provide care for up to 10,000 people for three months.
Funds will be directed to International Medical Corps response in the Dominica.
