Mission Statement
ST ELIZABETH SCHOOL MISSION STATEMENT St. Elizabeth School is a small close-knit Roman Catholic school in the diocese of Wilmington, Delaware serving students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. The school provides each student with a genuine experience of Christian community which is nurturing, challenging, and disciplined. The school strives to educate young men and women in a caring and supportive environment, respectful of individual differences, to prepare them for a life of continuing education, service to others and growth in spirituality that reflects St. Elizabeth’s commitment to the Catholic faith, tradition, and the Benedictine charism.
About This Cause
Inspired by the teachings of St. Benedict and rooted in our Catholic faith, St. Elizabeth School is a pre-kindergarten through twelfth-grade community that fosters spiritual development, academic excellence, responsibility to self, and service to others in a diverse community of co-educational learners. Our Catholic identity as shaped by the Benedictine tradition of hospitality, prayer, humble service, the dignity of work, and a strong sense of the stability of our community and its traditions. The weaving of our Catholic values and beliefs in all academic and social areas, and embodiment of them through service to all of God’s people. In partnership with parents and families, an experience of community which is nurturing, challenging, disciplined, and respectful of each unique individual’s different needs and abilities. Self-worth nourished through spiritual, academic, and co-curricular activities focusing on God and our relationships with others. A rigorous curriculum that empowers students to be servant-leaders in their communities, through integration of cutting-edge skills and abilities in a morally responsible manner so that these may be used responsibly in an increasingly diverse and ever-changing world. Fostering Life-Long Learners Pre-K-12th Grade St. Elizabeth School faculty and staff continually develop curriculum and related learning experiences that translate into high academic achievement, as well as a deepening of personal faith. We offer a safe and loving Catholic program designed to inspire our students’ growth in academics, leadership, social engagement and service to give them a solid foundation to be successful in life after St. Elizabeth School. At St. E, our learning environment empowers students through collaboration and engaging, participatory lessons and projects. Modern labs & facilities enrich a diverse STEM curriculum and related co-curricular activities. An Active Learning Environment, where learning takes place outside the desk, highlights the student-centered approach in classes and projects.
