Mission Statement
Loggerhead Marinelife Center is dedicated to ocean conservation efforts specifically through education and research efforts of LMC staff and volunteers. We can not do this alone - we need your help to speak on behalf of the endangered sea turtles and other marine life found in our coastal waters.
About This Cause
Loggerhead Marinelife Center is a unique 501(C)3 non-profit organization dedicated to ocean conservation efforts specifically through education, research, and rehabilitation. The center is adjacent to one of the most important sea turtle nesting beaches in the world, allowing us to monitor nearly 10 miles of beach to further research. As the sixth most visited cultural facility in Palm Beach County, LMC offers FREE admission and educates over 300,000 visitors annually on our continued mission; to promote conservation of Florida’s coastal ecosystems with a special focus on threatened and endangered sea turtles. While exploring the center’s exhibit hall, visitors will learn all about sea turtles, as well as other types of marine life. A visitor favorite is the Florida Power & Light turtle yard which houses all of our sea turtle patients. The center also features the state-of-the-art Gordon & Patricia Gray Veterinarian Hospital which treats 80-90 sea turtles and thousands of hatchlings annually. This is the only sea turtle hospital between Orlando and the Florida Keys, making it a prime location for sea turtle rehabilitation. LMC provides the public with an opportunity to experience ocean conservation efforts in a way like never before. With interactive exhibits and educated staff and volunteers, every visitor will leave with a greater knowledge and appreciation about ocean conservation.
