Mission Statement
Making Waves Education Foundation's mission is to advance educational opportunities for college-bound, career-minded, historically underrepresented, and underserved youth. We envision a society in which all youth—regardless of race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status—have access to high-quality educational opportunities and the tools to achieve success.
About This Cause
Since 1989, Making Waves Education Foundation has provided educational opportunities that change lives. Today, we remain committed to providing historically underrepresented and underserved students equitable access to an education that will propel them into a successful and rewarding future of their choosing. As one of the few pathways in our community to break the cycle of poverty, Making Waves Education Foundation is a vehicle to help young people achieve their academic hopes and dreams for themselves. Throughout our long history, we have shown that when youth are engaged in rigorous and holistic academics, they can achieve great things. We are proud to be coaching more than 600 college students in our college success program. Our college success program commits to coaching students, who we call Wave-Makers, to graduate from college as quickly and with as little debt as possible while equipping them with the skills and experiences needed to be competitive contributors to the global workforce. Making Waves Education Foundation is a leader in empowering student from low-income communities to succeed in college and life. Serving the San Francisco Bay Area, the foundation supports more than 600 students through the successful completion of their college degrees, as quickly and with as little debt as possible. Making Waves Education Foundation is proud to be advancing educational opportunities for college-bound and career-minded youth. Together, we are expanding access to quality education and helping youth, their families, and the greater community create new opportunities for transformation, success, and pride.
