Mission Statement

The Andrus Center for Public Policy advances the legacy issues of former Idaho Governor and Secretary of the Interior, Cecil D. Andrus — wise use of our environmental resources, proper funding of education for our children and the cultivation of leadership from all segments of our society.

About This Cause

The Andrus Center provides a nationally respected forum for addressing vital public policy issues of our time. Our well attended events highlight independent, nonpartisan engagement on critical issues involving the environment and public lands, early learning, and leadership. The Andrus Award for Leadership is presented to an outstanding public leader who has made significant contributions to our nation while demonstrating integrity, courtesy, bipartisanship and common sense. Past recipients include Senator Alan Simpson and Chief Justice Sandra Day O'Conner. Annual symposiums on Environment and/or Early Learning. These symposiums are held in response to the needs of the time. These events bring together stakeholders from a wide spectrum, including politicians, business people, citizens, and industry-specific professionals. Recent collaborations include Early Learning in Idaho: Finding Common Ground and the Western Invasive Weed Summit. Women and Leadership is an annual leadership conference that gathers women - and men - for two days of education and motivation. Keynote speakers are successful female leaders from the worlds of business, academia, military, arts, and science. Attendees also benefit from hands-on skill builders and networking.
