Mission Statement
Education Through Music-Massachusetts (ETM-MA) partners with under-resourced schools to provide music as a core subject for all children, and utilizes music education as a catalyst to improve academic achievement, motivation for school and self-confidence.
About This Cause
At Education Through Music - Massachusetts, we believe that every child, at every school, deserves access to high-quality music education. It is part of a well-rounded education, essential for students’ social and emotional well-being, and a critical tool for establishing equity and access. When ETM-MA partners with a school, we begin by working with the principal to assess the school’s needs and then deliver compatible music education complete with classroom materials and instruments. Our teachers are experienced music educators and support learning in other essential academic areas, including math, science, and language arts. We equip those teachers with the tools they need to succeed, including year-round professional development and assigned mentors to provide resources and support. ETM-MA uses data and analytics to continually evaluate and refine our work to meet established standards to continue to provide high-quality music education to all students.
