About This Cause
Hold Em Up 4 Care is an independent American nonprofit organization whose focuses is on children’s mental health resiliency and their well-being through our Bras program. When the youth can’t focus in class and aren’t getting the grades they would like, it could very much be because of a bra. If they can’t play sports because of not being able to afford a sports bra, that takes a toll on them mentally, physically, and emotionally. Hold Em Up 4 Care’s UnderAWARE program provides perfect-fit bras to youth, ages 9-19, who live in the Kansas City, MO urban core. Our target population are the underserved school- aged youth from the urban core who cannot afford a basic bra that averages between $25-89. Our program ensure that at-risk girls are ensured economic access to free and properly fitting bras by providing personalized bra measurement and fitting services, up to two perfect-fit bras based on a girl’s measurements, and bra wash bags along with bra care education to ensure their longevity. We are raising funds for products, certification, training, storage space, office support, and supplies. HEU4C has two core programs: UnderAWAR provides essential items such as bras, underwear, socks, and belts to children aged 9-19. Summer and Fall Wellness is a seasonal extension focusing on both physical and mental wellness with Hip-Hop Boys Yoga.
