Mission Statement

Our Vision: To be the premier leadership development organization for girls. Our Mission: Girl Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

About This Cause

Girl Scouts Heart of Central California serves more than 12,000 girls and 6,000 adults in 18 counties which include: Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Colusa, El Dorado, Glenn, Mariposa, Merced, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Solano, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tuolumne, Yolo, and Yuba. Our council's headquarters is the Sacramento Regional Program Center, and the southern area is served by the Modesto Regional Program Center. Both centers have a Girl Scout Shop and STEM Center + MakerSpace. Our extraordinary journey began more than 112 years ago with the original Girl Scout Juliette Gordon “Daisy” Low. On March 12, 1912, in Savannah, Georgia, she organized the very first Girl Scout troop and every year since, we’ve honored her vision and legacy, building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. We’re the preeminent leadership development organization for girls. And with programs from coast to coast and across the globe, Girl Scouts offers every girl a chance to grow and practice a lifetime of leadership, adventure, and success.
