About This Cause
The Reaction Research Society (RRS) was founded in 1943 and is the oldest continuously operating amateur experimental rocket group in the US. The RRS is an educational non-profit group dedicated to promoting study, education and sharing knowledge of rocketry. The RRS has been designing, building, testing and launching rockets for over 80 years. The RRS supports events with grade schools, high schools, university projects and with the general public. RRS outreach includes underserved communities such as Watts, Compton, Boyle Heights and San Pedro. The programs we support are aspirational, mentoring student teams from elementary to college. We provide volunteer instruction and the launch equipment, and materials are purchased via dollar donations.
