Mission Statement

Scouting America, Aloha Council delivers the promise of Scouting to youth in Hawaii on the islands of Oahu, Kauai, Maui, and Hawaii, as well as in the U.S. territories of American Samoa, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Through iconic programs such as Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Exploring, and Sea Scouts, we aim to instill the values of the Scout Oath and Law, emphasizing character, citizenship, and personal fitness. Our vision incorporates traditional Hawaiian values of kuleana (responsibility), kokua (helpfulness), and malama ka aina (care for the land) to guide youth in becoming ethical leaders and engaged citizens.

About This Cause

Scouting America, Aloha Council, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves over 4,000 youth across the Hawaiian Islands and the Pacific region, including Guam, American Samoa, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Our mission is to deliver the promise of Scouting through inclusive, co-ed programs that inspire young people to become responsible, ethical, and engaged citizens. Our programs—Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Exploring, and Sea Scouts—offer life-changing experiences for youth ages 5-20. With the support of over 2,000 dedicated adult volunteers, we provide opportunities for leadership development, character building, outdoor adventure, and community service. Rooted in the core values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law, we emphasize traditional Hawaiian principles such as kuleana (responsibility), kokua (helpfulness), and malama ka aina (care for the land). Our programs empower youth to develop skills in citizenship, personal fitness, and ethical decision-making while fostering teamwork and resilience. Scouting America, Aloha Council, is a vital part of the communities we serve, providing a foundation for future leaders and delivering critical support in times of need. For example, during the recent Maui wildfires, our camps served as disaster relief staging areas, showcasing our commitment to emergency preparedness and community resilience. With a focus on inclusivity, we welcome boys and girls of all backgrounds to participate in our programs. Our Exploring initiative specifically prepares young adults for future careers, aligning with workforce development and economic mobility goals. Our charity thrives on the generosity of donors, who help us maintain high-quality programs, develop state-of-the-art facilities, and expand our reach to underserved areas. Together, we can ensure that Scouting continues to be a beacon of hope, opportunity, and inspiration for youth across Hawaii and the Pacific. Join us in shaping the next generation of leaders.
