Girl Scouts of Central Illinois proudly presents Diamonds, Desserts & Distinction on Thursday, September 13, 2018, 6:30pm-8:30pm at CityView Banquet and Meeting Center, 4th floor of the Illinois Terminal. This signature event will once again feature the Flora Gems Sweet Surprise Wall, a Girl Scout cookie-inspired desserts competition among local chefs, and recognition of WCIA Anchor Jennifer Roscoe as our 2018 Woman of Distinction.

We invite your support to help raise awareness and funds for Girl Scouts of Central Illinois. Within our 38-county council GSCI serves over 20,000 girls, leaders, and their families. Within the greater Champaign area, we serve over 3,000. Your support will help us make a significant difference in the lives of these girls through empowering programs like the arts, financial literacy, healthy living, outdoor education, and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). Girl Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. Together, we can impact every G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader).™

Our programs reach over 2000 patrons a year and employ dozens of working artists.

Opportunity Details

The Signature Chefs Auction brings together Omaha’s top chefs, philanthropists and corporations in a night of food and wine to benefit March of Dimes. It is a high profile event that attracts over 600 people who will join the mission of the March of Dimes as we fight for healthy moms and strong babies. March of Dimes will require approximately 50 volunteers to help with the event activities. Volunteers may be needed in other areas depending on event dynamics. Volunteers should be at least 18 years of age and should understand that they will need to be available, sober and dedicated for the entire duration of the event night activity in which they will be assigned to. March of Dimes will train and manage volunteers before the event. Training time will depend on the activity a volunteer is assigned to. March of Dimes will only conduct one training session so it is vital that all volunteers are prompt and on time. Volunteers should understand that their participation and commitment are critical to the success of the event. Volunteers that neglect or abandon their responsibilities will have a direct negative effect on the entire event and the revenue generated.
