Currently looking for a board secretary. As the board secretary, the volunteer will perform the following duties:
1. Is a member of the Board.
2. Schedules and regularly attends board meetings and important related meetings.
3. Prepares the agenda with input from other Board of Directors and Executive Director.
4. Prepares the official minutes of the meeting and records motions, discussions, votes, and decisions.
5. Distributes agenda and relevant documents one week before meetings.
6. Ensures minutes are distributed to members shortly after each meeting.
7. Is sufficiently familiar with legal documents (articles, by-laws, IRS letters, etc.) to note applicability during meetings.
8. Maintains records of the board and ensures effective management of organization's records.
9. Assures that documents are filed and accessible.
10. Holds members accountable for their tasks.
11. Gets to know other committee members and builds a working relationship that contributes to consensus.
12. Makes serious commitment to participate actively in committee work.

Musical Bridges Around the World’s first performers were members of CEO Anya Grokhovski’s family, students, and friends. This 25th anniversary celebration concert brings them together again, as Anya takes the stage with pianist Alena Gorina, pianist Valeri Grokhovski, bassist Zlatan Redzic, percussionist Darren Kuper, violinist Mark Cheikhet, pianist Elena Portnaya, Agarita Chamber Ensemble, and mezzo-soprano Veronica Willliams. All generations of musicians will unite in celebrating, reuniting, and contributing to a shared peace that comes through music.

UNITYFest is a free annual festival creating meaningful connections through cross-cultural collaborations and celebrating our common humanity. A union of classical and contemporary music from near and far defines our place in this melting pot that is San Antonio. Presented by Musical Bridges Around the World.

Opportunity Details

Delivery of JA programs on financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship to youth in Manitoba grade schools using a mix of hands-on activities, discussions and digital learning to engage students and ensure they retain and use what they learn. Volunteers bring their professional experiences into the classroom, resulting in the students being able to connect the programs with real-life experiences. With the help of volunteers, students gain the knowledge and confidence they need to define their personal success and go after their dreams.
