The Kids Co-op is expanding and needs lots of help to role out our many different services that contributes to a blueprint template for any rural school or community to replicate. We are the recipient of the 2023 USDA Farm to School grant that involves putting greenhouses, salad bars, indoor grow towers and gardens into 12 Sanders County schools. We're also going to be delivering local food to the schools for the next two years by setting up an online ordering and bi-monthly distribution. We have a school fundraising program where the students will get prizes and funds for community uplifting projects from the proceeds of the CSA and other local food subscriptions they sell and help distribute. We need help to develop a website other than just using our Facebook page. This will need an online store to market everything from local food to local art, body products, home products, and mostly product from the NW region and Montana. Also need to tie into community outreach via social media and other methods. We also are need of coordinating fundraising events and grant writing to purchase the building we're renting.

MISSION:To bring hope to the hopeless, food to the hungry, love to the lost, healing to the broken, and shelter to the struggling.
PURPOSE:
Our purpose is to minister to marginalized or otherwise overlooked people in need, regardless of age, race, gender, or religion by providing a safe shelter for those who need immediate help and solutions to their predicament. We start by assessing problems, providing meals, identifying special concerns, long-term challenges and developing an action plan for the next steps.
Many in our society consider these individuals considered a problem to be dealt with, to be moved away from the public eye. Homelessness is not a problem to solve. Many times, families have lost hope and do not know where to turn next. We are bringing hope to these families by partnering with them and providing sources with other agencies to lead them to a better, productive lifestyle.
B the Light Mission will be bringing to the forefront a model of empowering these marginalized and homeless individuals. It is not a new model; the challenge model of empowering is based on old and proven methods. We seek to reach those marginalized individuals that wish to make a change to their circumstances through challenging their current situation to build a better one. We are a source of training, assessment of their needs, counseling, rehabilitation, job placement, help guide them, while promoting an independent lifestyle out and off the streets and into their own homes.
The mission’s purpose is to partner with homeless, marginalized, or otherwise overlooked individuals to build a sustainable path to an independent lifestyle. It is not a place for handouts, it is a place to give a hand up. We will rely on outside partners to help us in job placement, finding homes and apartments, re-connecting with families and rehabilitation for the guest desiring to break away from dependance on social services. We intend to lift them up, not hold them down. We are providing an actionable plan that over a maximum of thirteen months will enable them to find a stable job, reunite with family, or place them in an independent home. We are providing a means to improve their lifestyle, not just enable them to remain in poverty.
Target Audience
In the northeast corner of Oklahoma, approximately 16% of the population live in poverty (HUD). In Bartlesville, a city’s population of approximately 37,000, there are over 600 individuals and families living in homelessness or no permanent address situation. Our target audience will be those individuals who feel marginalized or forgotten, wanting to break away from their dependence on government assistance; those who are dealing with homelessness, alienated from their families and want a partner to help them change their lives.
