The Stephanie A. Wynn Foundation proudly presents the 3rd Annual Let's Talk IBD Health & Wellness Symposium, a powerful opportunity to raise awareness about Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) within the African American community.

This year, the theme OPPORTUNITY reflects our commitment to creating pathways for equitable healthcare and resources. By shedding light on this often-overlooked issue, the symposium aims to empower individuals on their healthcare journey through education, advocacy, and collaboration.

Volunteer with Us and Be Part of the Change!
We are seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to help us bring this impactful event to life.

Available Volunteer Ambassador Opportunities:

Event Set-Up Crew: Assist with setting up signage, registration tables, and refreshment stations.

Registration Assistants: Friendly and organized individuals to check in participants, distribute welcome packets, and provide event information.

Greeters and Ushers: Outgoing volunteers to welcome guests, guide them to various locations, answer questions, and assist with seating arrangements.

Online Social Media Ambassadors: Help spread awareness by posting weekly content provided by us on social media platforms.

Administrative Volunteer Support: Assist with managing refreshment carts and providing snacks and drinks to attendees.

Clean-Up Crew: Help with post-event breakdown and cleanup to ensure the venue is left in excellent condition.

Volunteer Training Sessions:
Training sessions are held on Tuesdays via Zoom at 6:30PM EST.

VITA provides free tax preparation to qualified individuals and families in Northern Virginia. WEBS Training Center is recruiting volunteers to provide tax preparation, online tax coaching, social media outreach, and IT support, as well as greeters, screeners, and language interpreters, including ASL. No experience necessary; free training is provided. Volunteer training begins in December and volunteers are needed through mid-April.

Please note that WEBS Training Center will continue to consult with the IRS Stakeholder Partnerships, Education and Communication (SPEC) Officers and monitor state, local, and national guidelines when administering the VITA and TCE programs for Tax Year 2024. The safety of our staff, volunteers, and the community is our top priority and may impact volunteer participation or responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare tax returns for low-income clients, focusing on maximizing returns.
- Verify documentation and ensure accurate data entry.
- Review clients’ income for additional benefits eligibility.
- Maintain strict privacy and confidentiality for all client information.

What We’re Looking For:
- At least 3 years of experience as a tax preparer under the CVITP program.
- Proficiency in UFile software and Autofill, and experience working with seniors.
- Strong customer service, oral and written communication, and analytical skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.

Time Commitment: Once a week 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, Shifts available Monday-Friday through March & April.
