Mission Statement

Our mission is to back brilliant research by giving scientists the technology and equipment they need to find new and improved ways to prevent, detect and treat ALL types of cancer.

About This Cause

2 in 5 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. The remaining 3 will be closely affected by a diagnosis. Cancer is a deadly problem that needs disruptive solutions, starting with pioneering programs and revolutionary research. We know only brilliant ideas can tackle something as big as cancer. Since 1984, ACRF has provided grant funding of over $204 million to 90 research projects in 44 Australian scientific institutions. From small vaccines to big machines our funding has supported some of the biggest outcomes in cancer research across Australia. ACRF supporters have backed landmark projects such as the development of the world’s first cancer vaccine (for cervical cancer), the establishment of a precision medicine program working towards the goal of zero deaths from childhood cancer, and the creation of the innovative MRI-Linac which will improve patient outcomes and reduce the trauma associated with radiation therapy. By funding research that seeks to progress and transform the way we prevent, detect and treat ALL cancers, we are committed to our vision of one day reaching a world without cancer. Thank you for giving the people you love Australia's best cancer research.
