Mission Statement

The mission of The Nature Conservancy is to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends. Our vision is a world where the diversity of life thrives, and people act to conserve nature for its own sake and its ability to fulfill our needs and enrich our lives.

About This Cause

How do we achieve this mission and vision? Through the dedicated efforts of our diverse staff, including more than 400 scientists, all of whom impact conservation in 72 countries and territories: 38 by direct conservation impact and 34 through partners. With the help of our many partners, from individuals and governments to local nonprofits and corporations. By using a non-confrontational, collaborative approach and staying true to our core values. That’s how The Nature Conservancy has done more than anyone else to advance conservation around the world since our founding in 1951. The Nature Conservancy (TNC)Brazil has been building Collaboration for Long-Lasting Solutions. Since 1988, the organization has been working in Brazil to help build a future in which social and economic development and the conservation of natural ecosystems are one and the same. We selected 3 priority landscapes to work on in Brazil (Amazon Rainforest, Atlantic Forest and Cerrado). In each biome, we focus on specific areas (Pará State, Mantiqueira Region and Araguaia River Basin). In collaboration with our partners, we bring together multiple stakeholders and deploy solid science and hands-on projects that achieve tangible, scalable and long-lasting results and benefit people and nature.
