Mission Statement
Community Respite Service Inc. provides quality respite in parts of southern Manitoba, especially Winnipeg and the Westman regions, for the caregivers of and to individuals with physical and/or intellectual disabilities.
About This Cause
Community Respite Service Inc. (CRS) provides respite to support families and individuals with disabilities to foster independence and participation in the community by providing well trained staff, client designed policies and individual/family centered care. CRS offers two programs, Office Administered Respite and Self Administered Respite for people with disabilities and their families. Office Administered Respite hires a pool of respite workers that are matched with families and participants based on availability, skills and needs. This can allow for more flexibility if a specific respite worker is unavailable for a respite request. Self Administered Respite is when a family or participant know someone they would like to have CRS hire and train to work with them specifically as their respite worker. CRS also provides the administrative support but respite is arranged directly between the worker and the family or the worker.
