Mission Statement
The Adler Centre (est. 1973) believes in fostering community connection. Through our work we promote the Adlerian values of encouragement, social interest, and the human need to belong. We provide low-cost and sliding scale counselling, internship training, and our highly acclaimed S.T.E.P. Parenting Workshops.
About This Cause
The Adlerian Psychology Association of British Columbia operates a non-profit counselling clinic and internship site named The Adler Centre that offers low-cost and sliding scale services to at-risk populations and those who cannot afford mental health services at market rates. Our largest program we operate is the Affordable & Sliding Scale Counselling program which seeks to remove financial barriers that many people face when they need counselling support. Since the pandemic, we began offering free online groups led by a Registered Clinical Counsellor for those who could no longer afford any counselling services. We also provide parenting workshops that teach parents the skills to raise capable and responsible children in an experiential, collaborative environment. Our organization is committed to building a more connected, resilient community.
