Mission Statement

Alzheimer Society of Durham Region (ASDR) offers a variety of programs and services to improve the quality of life for people with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia and their care partners. Our vision is to live in a community where people with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias are accepted and supported in their environment.

About This Cause

Our trained and professional staff is available to respond to individuals, families, professionals and the general public through various services including:one-to-one consultation and support, family/care partner support groups and early stage support groups. ASDR also delivers a comprehensive education program including: learning series for people with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia and their care partners, workshops for professional caregivers, and in-service education (by request). With a wide range of programs such as our First Link referral program, Finding Your Way, iPod Project and Minds in Motion, ASDR helps to better safety, connect individuals and enhance communication to help to improve quality of life for people with dementia and their care partners.
