Hope and Healing International serves as the hands joining Canadians and children with disabilities in the poorest communities – working together for the benefit of all.
About This Cause
Hope and Healing International cares deeply that girls and boys with impairments in the poorest communities of the world live healthier, happier, longer lives. We know, from evidence and more than 100 years of experience, that too many of these children are dying, lonely, uneducated and abused. They are forgotten, again and again, by their communities, their governments, and too often by development organizations. We believe in the intrinsic value and God-given potential in every child. Our programs are child and ability centred. We partner with children, families, communities and local governments to ensure more kids have healthy bodies, learning minds and resilient spirits. Together with local partners, we support programming for child health, family income generation, ability-centred education and play, community engagement, as well as child empowerment and resiliency. Goals: Key goals of our 5-year Impact 2021 Strategy are: • To validate primary school completion as the key quality of life indicator for children with disabilities in low income countries. • To ensure 80% of our program plans are designed in consultation with our young clients and their caregivers. • To grow our gross revenues by 45% and our net revenues available for program work by 50%. • 90% of staff will have participated in disability inclusion training at a level appropriate for their role.
