Mission Statement

The Mennonite New Life Centre’s mission is to facilitate newcomer settlement and integration through holistic services and community engagement, carried out within a gender justice and anti-oppression framework.

About This Cause

The Mennonite New Life Centre envisions a society in which all people from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds participate fully in all aspects of Canadian life. We will model an approach that brings together community engagement and community services, working together with newcomers to reduce insecurity and reach integration, strengthen voices and increase social equality. As a community-based settlement agency supporting immigrants and refugees since 1983, the Mennonite New Life Centre is a place of welcome, friendship and community, where newcomers and neighbours gather to support each other, learn from each other, and take action together for a more just and compassionate society. Our services include: • settlement information & referrals for immigration support & community connections • language training, including LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) and the LIGHTS (Language Instruction Giving Hope to Trauma Survivors) Program • community mental health counselling & workshops, including the HOPES (Helping Our Newcomers Prepare for Employment/Entrepreneurial Success) Program • employment, entrepreneurship, & career bridging supports • counter-human trafficking counselling & case management We serve newcomers across Ontario via phone, email, secure video connection, and a mobile app (MNLCT iCent Newcomer Support App) and in English, Arabic, Dari, Farsi, Mandarin, Pashto, Spanish, or Ukrainian. To serve vulnerable clients during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are open for in-person services (by appointment only).
