The Eva Marsden Centre for Social Justice and Aging is dedicated to restoring humanity and dignity to the experience of growing older in our society. EMC works to improve all aspects of health and well-being while collectively addressing systemic issues that impact daily life. Le Centre Eva Marsden pour la justice sociale et le vieillissement se consacre à restaurer l'humanité et la dignité de l'expérience du vieillissement dans notre société. EMC s'efforce d'améliorer tous les aspects de la santé et du bien-être tout en s'attaquant collectivement aux problèmes systémiques qui ont un impact sur la vie quotidienne.

About This Cause

The Eva Marsden Centre for Social Justice and Aging was formerly known as the N.D.G. Senior Citizens' Council and received its' charter in 1975. A highly respected and innovative organization, the EMC has been advocating for the rights of older persons and representing them in many spheres of the health and social service system. EMC provides support to some of the most disadvantaged seniors living in our community, who live with serious physical and mental health challenges as well as financial insecurity and social isolation. The EMC provides direct social services and works to strengthen social cohesion through their community development work. EMC is committing to continuously improving the evidence base in the area of social gerontology and works with academic partners at the local, regional, provincial, national and international levels.
