Mission Statement
Silent Voice, founded in 1975, is the only Not-for-Profit charitable organization in the GTA offering community- and family-based support to the members of the Deaf community.
About This Cause
Silent Voice's programs, services, and approaches are uniquely designed, based on research and continuous evaluation, to provide barrier-free access to Deaf adults, youth, children, infants, and their families, in an American Sign Language (ASL) environment. Our programs are provided under two main streams to serve our clients: Deaf Adult Services and Deaf Child and Family Services. Deaf Adult Services include: One to One Support, Deaf Parenting Program, Free Tax Clinic for low income families, Deaf Newcomer Settlement Services, Housing Resource Centre, Deaf Financial Literacy education, Diaper Bank, and Domestic Violence Literacy. Deaf Child and Family Services include: Sign Language Summer Camp, Youth Leadership & Sports Development Program, Family Communication Program, and ASL Language Development Services for Deaf Infants and their families.
