About This Cause
Teen Time Camps are operated by Teen Time of Edmonton, a registered charitable, non-profit, non-denominational, Christian organization. Teen Time encourages wholesome physical, social, intellectual activities, and spiritual development in young people through recreational programming, social interactions, and by teaching scriptural principles. Teen Time's programs and services are available to any young person. Teen Time began offering summer camps in 1967 at Moose Lake, Alberta. In 1974 land was purchased 120 kilometres north of Edmonton for Teen Time's own camp site. Situated on the shores of Makewin Lake, the camp hosts an attractive two-storey lodge facility and summer cabins on a 350 acre ranch. Facilities include: Girls and Boys bunk houses, lodge with large kitchen and dining area, washroom facilities and showers, recreation center, lounge with fireplace, chapel, craft shack, indoor riding arena riding arena and barns, wilderness camp, paintball course, and a wonderful clean lake with a sandy beach. Teen Time runs 8-9 weeks of full summer camps each year and an average of 10 weekend retreats throughout the rest of the year, one of the things that makes Teen Time unique is that our staff that work at our camps are all volunteers. We have many well trained and experienced staff and for most of them the only payment they receive out at Teen Time is the enjoyment and satisfaction they get from working with and helping the kids that come out to the ranch. We have over 120 volunteers working with Teen Time to help make it a success. Teen Time organizes several fundraisers each year to help with costs including a banquet, silent auction, a fun run and carwash. Teen Time also relies on donations to run. Camp fees for campers covers food and basic camp needs.
