Mission Statement
At Waterloo North Mennonite Church we welcome all people to participate fully in our Christian community of faith with all its expectations, responsibilities, and opportunities regardless of personal characteristics such as race, ethnic background, age, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, income, or education. This means that race, ethnic background, age, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation or income are not a hindrance to participation, membership, leadership, rituals or marital ceremonies. Education is only a factor for hiring staff ministers.
About This Cause
The Confession of Faith in a Mennonite Perspective presents much of the basics of our theology. However, we have grown in our faith experience since its adaptation in 1995. Parts of the Confession are more restrictive than our perception of God, biblical interpretations and how we understand what it means to be a faithful follower of Christ. Specifically, we are in variance with Article 19. Our position is that marriage is not limited to the union of a male and female.
