About This Cause

Community Centre 55 is an award-winning agency of the City of Toronto and a registered charity. We are located in Ward 32 of the City of Toronto. As the centre of our community, we provide a variety of multi service programs and we help people to help themselves. The building is owned by the City of Toronto and is a historical property, built in 1911. It was formerly Police Station Number 10 of the Toronto Police and became the headquarters for 55 Division of the Metropolitan Toronto Police Services. The building was allocated to the community in 1975 and the community used the numerals ‘55’ in its name to pay respect to the history of the building.
