Mission Statement
Margaret’s mission is to provide a continuum of safe supportive housing for women with mental health challenges, and an array of innovative community-based programming available to both women and men, empowering them to build and reclaim their lives.
About This Cause
Margaret’s Community Housing & Support services (affectionately known as Margaret's) has been operating for 35 years to alleviate the pain and suffering that mental illness creates for thousands of residents of Toronto. The individuals that Margaret's supports are largely marginalized and live in poverty. They are vulnerable and impacted daily by the indignities of homelessness, addictions, trauma, and the devastating stigma of mental illness. Our programs include transitional housing, drop-in and respite services, mental health and justice, individualized senior support, and crisis intervention.
