Mission Statement
ehm is an inner-city mission that cares for people who are homeless or who are living in poverty. We offer a continuum of care from emergency food, clothing, and shelter to long-term housing. Since 1913, ehm has helped hundreds of thousands of vulnerable people work through barriers such as financial deprivation, hunger, emotional devastation and lack of self-esteem.
About This Cause
ehm works on three fundamental pillars: Homelessness, Housing and Health and serves both adults and youth in each of these three pillars. • Homelessness: ehm offers a safe space, hot meals, and support services to adults who are homeless or who may be living in unstable conditions. We are open 365 days a year, and help between 150 and 200 people every day. • Housing: ehm operates an 84-unit apartment building, provides a home for 110 individuals, helps people find housing and offers support to help residents stay housed. • Health: ehm offers hot meals to drop-in participants, residents and youth, makes referrals to doctors, counsellors, other health care professionals and groups and operates the Dental Clinic.
