Mission Statement

Founded in 1967, the Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal was the first research centre in Québec to bring together fundamental science researchers and clinicians under one roof. The IRCM has grown to become one of Canada’s leading research centres, with 34 research units organized into five research divisions. Located in the heart of Montréal’s academic community, the IRCM attracts top researchers. Every year, more than 100 Master’s and PhD students, and some 50 postdoctoral fellows pursue their scientific education at the Institut, supervised by experienced researchers in various fields of biomedical research. The IRCM is an independent non-profit research institution affiliated with both the Université de Montréal and McGill University. The IRCM Clinic is also affiliated with the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM). All IRCM researchers hold appointments as university research professors at the U of M and most laboratory directors are associated to various department at McGill

The IRCM Foundation’s is an essential partner for the Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal. Its mission is to obtain funding from corporations, private organizations and individuals. Thanks to individuals who hold dear the IRCM’s future, the IRCM Foundation can support scientific projects, technological development and training activities at the IRCM, thus contributing to the institute’s growth and success.
