About This Cause

Haven Toronto is a drop-in day centre serving homeless, marginally housed, and socially isolated men aged 50 and over, open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. 365 days a year. Haven provides a multitude of critical supports to its members, including mental health counselling, access to nurses for medical and wellness needs, and a free Healthy Meals program three times a day. In 2023, Haven served a record 120,000 meals (breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack), up 20% from the previous year. Haven facilities also provide elder men with access to showers and laundry facilities; access to phones, computers, mail, and recreation services; safe, warm, quiet spaces to read, watch TV, and socialize with friends. The onsite clothing room distributes a multitude of warm winter clothing and other everyday necessities. Haven Located at Jarvis and Shuter streets. Haven works closely with its members to help them find temporary or part-time housing. Haven provides these critical supports with the help of government grants, funding from non-government agencies like the United Way, and generous donations from family foundations, corporations, and individuals. The homeless crisis continues to be a major challenge and so help from donors is greatly appreciated and goes a long way to help alleviate the suffering of our members. Thank you.
