Mission: Mckernan Child Care Society is a recreational child care program focused on empowering children, youth and families. Vision: With exemplary guidance and innovative programming, the children, youth and families served by Mckernan Child Care Society will become upstanding community members.
About This Cause
Mckernan Child Care Society (MCCS) is a not-for-profit, registered charitable organization. MCCS was first organized by a group of parent volunteers whose children attended Mckernan school. The program opened in September 1987 and has been providing high quality child care ever since. We consider ourselves to be a valued member of the Mckernan community. We are committed to providing high quality care for school age children. We actively teach and help children develop positive social skills and conflict resolution skills. We provide a safe place for children to develop independence and individuality through play-based learning. We strive to build strong working partnerships with parents, staff, the children and our greater community. Our goal at MCCS is to provide high quality care for children, and to provide them with opportunities to play and learn. We work with parents, their families, and the school community as a team to ensure that children's needs are consistently met.
