About This Cause
Established in 1947 we are one of Alberta's oldest and longest serving charities. Our mission is to enhance the independence of children and young adults with a disability by providing funding for equipment. Equipment may related to mobility and may include wheelchairs, walkers, strollers and lifts of many kinds. It may also include a grant to make a family vehicle fully accessible. Our aim is to provide a means of being more active at home, at school, at work and at play. Other equipment may be related to communication and technology. New this year is our 70th anniversary legacy project "ipads for Inspiration". This project provides a grant for equipment related to ipads and their applications dedicated to helping people with a disability. These simple applications may provide a child with a voice or the ability to use the device as a unique learning tool for a children with special needs. We also have a host of groups programs that may provide sensory room equipment, an accessible swing for a playspace and a grant for an accessible bus.
