About This Cause

A cultural charitable organization dedicated to advancing the understanding and appreciation of cinema as art by bringing the very best in film culture and education to Vancouver audiences of all ages. The innovative year-round film programming and award-winning education programs of western canada's largest film institute include: PUBLIC PRESENTATIONS Over 500 curated screenings annually offer more international cinema, director retrospectives, and Canadian filmworks than any theatre in the province. EDUCATION DEPARTMENT Media literacy, video production workshops, and educational film screenings for youth, educators, and the community. FILM REFERENCE LIBRARY Our commitment to enhancing the culture and appreciation of cinema includes providing a collection of several thousand film books and periodicals. WEST COAST FILM ARCHIVE Over 2,000 16mm and 35mm prints of culturally significant Canadian and international films.
