The Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Northern Alberta (SBHANA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support, resources, and advocacy for individuals and families affected by spina bifida and hydrocephalus in the Northern Alberta region. SBHANA aims to enhance the quality of life for those with these conditions by promoting awareness, education, and social inclusion. Mission and Objectives: • Mission: To improve the lives of individuals living with spina bifida and hydrocephalus through support, education, and advocacy. Objectives: • Provide a support network for individuals with spina bifida and hydrocephalus and their families. • Promote public awareness and understanding of these conditions. • Advocate for improved access to healthcare, education, and other essential services. • Organize educational events and workshops to empower affected individuals and families. • Foster social integration and community engagement.

About This Cause

Here are some examples on how SBHANA Support Fund assists individuals with disabilities and their families: 1. Medical Support: SBHANA helps with medical expenses, consultations, and access to specialists who understand the unique needs of individuals with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. 2. Educational Initiatives: The organization provides information, resources, and support to help individuals with disabilities access appropriate educational opportunities, accommodations, and advocacy. 3. Adaptive Sports and Recreation: SBHANA assists members with the cost of participating in organized adaptive sports programs, recreational activities, and camps tailored to the abilities of individuals with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. 4. Equipment and Assistive Devices: SBHANA assists funding for individuals to obtain necessary equipment, assistive devices, and technologies that enhance independence and mobility. 5.
