Mission Statement

To develop and maintain a contemporary dance repertory company of professional calibre comprised of emerging Canadian dance artists performing the works of diverse choreographers for children, youth and the general public.

About This Cause

Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre (CCDT) is a Toronto-based repertory company founded by Artistic Director Deborah Lundmark and Managing Director Michael deConinck Smith in 1980. The company’s gifted next-generation artists perform commissions by a who’s who of North American choreographers in professional productions locally, nationally and abroad. Highlights include appearances at Toronto’s Princess of Wales and Royal Alexandra Theatres, five invitations to the Canada Dance Festival, and tours to Singapore, Malaysia, China and Scotland. Most recently, CCDT performed at the José Limón International Dance Festival in New York City and was featured at Harbourfront’s Junior International Children’s Festival and Canada’s premiere international dance festival, Fall For Dance North.
