Mission Statement
The Vancouver Bach Choirs mission is to perform with excellence, to educate choral singers and audiences of all ages, and to inspire a lifelong love of new and traditional choral masterworks.
About This Cause
The Vancouver Bach Choir is an independent, charitable arts organization that pursues the vision and mission of the choir through its adult and children’s programs, as well as its partnerships with professional, community and youth orchestras. The Vancouver Bach Choir has been a fixture in Western Canada’s arts community for over 85 years. Since 1930, the VBC has offered concerts to Vancouver’s communities, toured around the world, commissioned countless Canadian compositions and instituted one of the lower mainland’s premier children’s choir programs. Along with traditional repertoire, the VBC adult choir program includes adventurous and thought-provoking choices. Our Children’s choirs began started 34 years ago as a supplemental project of the Adult Symphonic Choir and has now expanded to seven choirs with 350 singers ranging in age from 5yrs to mid-20s. Each choir provides music education and performance opportunities at the highest level of excellence. Performances take place throughout the Metro Vancouver region and are a mix of ticketed and free events to offer the greatest possible accessibility to our audience members.
